Hrmm... Snips and Snails would have fit the Bulk and Skull characters much better. Two dumbbells who get into trouble for doing something stupid (like unleashing an Ursa Minor on Ponyville). Snips is the fat one who comes up with the schemes while Snails is the thin dope who does everything that chubby friend tells him. Plus all four of their names only have one syllable.
Also, Bulk & Skull are lovable unlike those two little brats up there. |

Alright, time to reveal who these guys are and why I compared them.
Gilda = Viral (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann): Both have some relationship to Rainbow Dash/Simon. And they are both dicks. Trixie = Gary Oak (Pokemon): As HeinousActsZX stated, this was all his idea. I would have paired her up with Wizardmon. Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara = Bulk and Skull (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers): Both are bullies. As for Snips and Snails, while they have more in common with Bulk and Skull, SS and DT fit their Season 1 versions. Diamond Dogs = Kakashi's Dogs (Naruto): ... They're dogs. It's like with the Windigoes and Hyourinmaru. Flimflam Bros. = Kyubey (Puella Magi Madoka Magica): Both are, for lack of a better term, con artists. Derpy Hooves = Mikuru (Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu): Both are klutzy. Doctor Whooves = Kamen Rider Den-O (Kamen Rider Den-O): Both are time travelers, and the dude who voices Momotaros (basically the guy who becomes Den-O) also voiced an incarnation of The Doc in the Japanese dub. Zecora = Killer B (Naruto): Both rhyme and are the shows token African American. Cheerilee = Yukari (Azumanga Daioh): Both are teachers. I would have went with Sonada from Kamen Rider Fourze to reflect a theory going around that Cheerilee was behind Discord's unleashing, but I think one Kamen Rider reference was enough. Nurse Redheart = Nurse Joy (Pokemon): ... Really? You guess why I compared these two! Octavia = Octavia Von Seckendroff (Puella Magi Madoka Magica): Oh come on! Both have the same name! Also, Seckendroff has a violin motif. YANDERE!Fluttershy = Yuno Gasai (Mirai Nikki): ... I think the tag I gave Fluttershy is enough. Pinkamena Diane Pie = Misa Aname (Death Note): Misa's VA voiced Pinkie's singing voice. Oh, and there's this video of depressed Pinkie singing as Misa, and like Gomigomiponi, I can't get it out of my head. Roboshi = D-Reaper (Digimon Tamers): ... Crack is fun sometimes. |
