I think the show's staff are trying to tell Hasbro something.

Yes, yes you are.

I only find it weird that I watched an episode about how craftsmanship is important from a show who's toys look like crap. :P

Well given how consistent the blindbags are to the actual characters they're supposed to look like. No, this isn't weird at all.

Hey, the animators put a lot of love and effort into the show. We can tell the difference between their work and Hasbro's lack of care when it comes to making their product. And which do we appreciate more?

I've never understood what's so wrong with the toyline.

I thought we established that the show was more than just a vehicle for shilling the product, if only for us.

Could Studio B be trying to tell Hasbro something?

I'm assuming that the show is sending a message to the toy people. Of course, they'll probably just make a Cider Squeezy 6000 toy, but at least we know that the people who make the show care about craftsmanship. That's why this generation is so much more popular than previous ones; they actually tried to make a good show rather than a series of commercials.

No kidding.
"Progress is evil." (John Henry, the patron saint of luddite idiots)
"Competition is evil." (Karl Marx, patron saint of hipster idiots)
"Enforced monopolies are good-- if the 'right' people have them."

Did hasbro start making the toys out of cardboard or something?

Nah, there won't be a Cider Squeezy 6000 toy. They don't make toys for the villains - been the policy ever since the first series. Even though I guarantee everyone would buy a Trixie Plushy and a Discord action figure

oh and "Cheating is okay if you're the good guys" (and yes, getting their friends to help as "honorary family" was CHEATING.)

It's DHX giving Hasbro the finger. It's got to be.

I would buy the FUCK out of a Cider Squeezy 6000 toy. Especially if it was a redeccoed Transformer.

@RealityCheck: Normally I would agree, but I think to be fair they did get approval from both the Mayor and the brothers.

Irony of that scope doesn't really count. TVTropes makes that kind of argument.

Or, if you don't accept that, the mass-produced toys are the surest proof of the moral.

@RealityCheck

Take that argument back to ponychan please. -_-

A business taking on more workers when they need them is not cheating, and their volunteering was allowed by both the Mayor and the Brothers.

Really, the word 'cheating' is being bandied about for both sides too often.

The cartoon staff doesn't care about the toys for some reason and it comes off as an ironic moral anyway.

Hasbro only ordered the show, they do not write it.

After G3.5 they probably realized it was a bad idea to leave that task to the marketing department.

In before "Suited for success" referance!

Seriously though, Rarity and AJ are both fine craftsmares. I have great respect for the message of "Suited for Success" and "The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000"

Both great episodes for great ponies!
