In my headcanon, she's not an Alicorn. Maybe a Pegacorn or just a pegasus with a fake horn (or a unicorn with fake wings). I really just can't accept that she's an Alicorn at all, but I guess I'll wait until her episode before I make a final decision. |

Lauren never wanted this character to be on the show, I doubt she was Jayson's idea so all I can think of Hasbro demanded Cadence's introduction so they can sell more toy sets.
If this becomes a trend it could jeopardize the show. The staff will be forced to shoehorn in more and more throwaway characters who do not really fit into the already established set up. This is incredibly hard to do in a subtle way so the 'canon' will become a hopelessly incoherent mess. The main six will cease to be the focus of the show, they will be just there to help introduce 'random pony you can buy at Toys'r'Us now'. |

Reading comments on Cadence are both funny and sad.
Funny because of just how desperate some of you fuckers are to cling to your "precious headcanon" And sad because it further proves what a bunch of fucking babies the brony community is slowly becoming. The "wait and see" attitude that this show once had is for some reason dead, and for all the wrong reasons. |

One more thing since these thoughts continue to form. It's sad how the bronies seem to instantly forget that despite being the vocal fanbase, and the one who gets the show better known through the net and the world, the simple fact remains...
YOU ARE NOT HASBRO'S TARGET DEMO. AND YOU NEVER WILL BE. Meaning that no matter how much the show may or may not cater to you, in the end of the day, this show is still targeted mainly to little girls to sell toys for... you guessed it, little girls. Look at the commercials, you don't see ads where two men in their 20's debate over who's cooler, Rainbow Dash or Pinkie Pie? No. You see who Hasbro will always focus on. And that's little girls. So, if Hasbro wants to make an episode with a slight intent to sell toys, then what's the problem? Even if we have an alicorn, what's the big issue? Does she have to have some sort of goddess powers? No. She can be a ruler of a land that's not Equestria. It's absolutely sad to see where this fanbase is going now. What once was a boom of positive energy slowly becoming clouded with undeserving pessimism. We're becoming everything we hate. We're becoming the Sonic fanbase. |

I do agree with Forgottensin that people need to calm down with their criticism and pessimism as of late because it has gotten ridiculous. Though some of it could be attested to the size of the fan-base at this point,while I digress.
While I may be kinda iffy on this whole thing I'm not going "HUR THEY ADDED ANOTHER ALICORN TO THE SHOW, IT'S RUINED FOREVER" despite how people try to twist my words. I'm still gonna wait for this with great anticipation on who this Shining Armour and Princess Cadence are. |

I'm the first to come up with slanderous headcanon for things I don't like, but I am most definitely waiting until the episode.
Even from a "fix canon" perspective, how can you fix it when you don't know how it is broken? It's like buying car parts before you pop open the hood. |

I would like to suggest people to wait until we actually see Cadence before we judge her character. The people working for the show have done amazing work this far and I have my full faith in their abilities.
I remember a lot of people getting really pissed off when we first saw Discord. They were yelling all shorts of stuff about show being ruined with a dumb, childish villain. And we all know how that ended... ;) So, just give it time and wait. We can't judge anything when we know nothing. :) |

Canon is already kind of threadbare. I mean, was Ponyville founded hundreds of years ago, or three generations back?
It's most likely that if people don't like it, they'll just ignore the episode and pretend it never happened, like Star Trek: Voyager S2E15, "Threshold". Or Luna's canon personality. |

Princess Cadence was great. I loved it. I'm fucking hell 19 for crying out loud. I don't care if she was ever truely meant to be a character in the show. She was great and I hope they show her again. |
