Politeness is about consideration of the others around you. Changing your presentation to make your neighbors comfortable, or communicate with their modes of understanding, while keeping true to your core values, is the skill of diplomacy. It's why we refer to someone skilled in getting along with many different groups as a "social chameleon." |
