Okay hasbro, you don't want to release a boxset. That's fine I understand, but can you PLEASE at least release the DVD's in some sort of order rather than this pick n' mix style highlights disk?
You may be selling them to kids but even small children will get upset when their favourite episode gets forgotten. |

@Roboshi
You...you are going to fave this, no? Anywho, good point. I figure they have some reason for organizing episodes like this. I've said elsewhere that Hasbro has been doing this for longer than I've been born, and they've probably made a killing on it. We just don't know what it is, but it probably makes them more money in the end. The fact that we exist requires more research before they change the formula. |

^ As you can tell, I edited all of that without checking for coherency. Should make enough sense though. |

Why wouldn't they want to release a boxed set, though? |
| cyberblade507 #919350 5 months ago |
@TooOldForThisShow Because they can make more money selling four episodes at a time for $15-20 a DVD instead of selling a season (26 eps), half season (13 eps), or quarter season (6-7 eps) for $25-$50. And then, when they DO release the box sets, they'll make more money off people who want the collections/episodes in order. |

Ah, so they're being weasels, basically. |
| cyberblade507 #919428 5 months ago |
Ack, sorry, this DVD has five episodes. However, the point still stands. Being nice to fans is all well and good, but at the end of the day, they are a company and as such they need TWO things to get by:
1. Your loyalty. 2. Your (or your parents) money. If they don't have both, they lose their capital and eventually wither away and die. No loyalty means you might not come back. No money means you can't provide them with anything real they (as a company) need to survive. |

@TooOldForThisShow Why do people aways think basic and tried and true business practices are being "weasely?" If you don't want the product as is, send in a complaint and don't buy it. No one's going to force you to make the purchase. But they need to make sure SOMEONE is going to buy it. If they don't make enough money, then they won't take the bigger risk of more product at a smaller price (i.e. a box set).
Having a big internet following that constantly watches your show online is one thing. Having them spend the money on the DVDs is another thing entirely. It's one thing if your family says you can cook well and would pay money for your food. It's another to instantly dump all your money into making your own restaurant because of their compliments. |

@TooOldForThisShow Why do people aways think basic and tried and true business practices are being "weasely?" Because it sort of is, but I was also being facetious. |

Screw the DVD, BD, whatever. I'll just buy all the episodes off iTunes and download whatever bonus content interests me. |

I just realized this dvd has the last roundup on it. I don't care if it just has random episodes, this shit's preordered right freaking now. |

I buy my Pony eps off of iTunes.
I have all of season 1 purchased already, and I have all of season 2 pre-purchased. And my dvd shelves are already full of anime, so I'm not sure if I need FiM on dvd.... |

^Same here. Though I don't pre-order I just get the episodes I want when they come out. At two bucks an episode (in Standard Defenition) it's a much sweeter deal than most would give it credit for. Hell I don't even have the Hub to begin with. |
