For professional reasons I’ve submitted this work anonymously (I don’t want softcore porn coming back to bite me when I’m looking for a job). This is one of my favorite erotic MLP drawings from Megasweet (I also consider it one of his more tasteful ones), and I thought it deserved a better coloring job than the one that was currently out there. I used this as practice for new coloring techniques, and I hope you enjoy the final result. |

Well, the flesh tones are excellent. But the hair looks very flat and as a result, it stands out quite a bit The highlights are also inconsistent and look unnatural. That water effect looks very out of place as well; it looks like torn pieces polythene bags.
For the water, you could try using an altered swatch taken from the skin colour and paint the outline to show water droplets laying on their bodies. Water is clear, so think about how the light reflects off of it, as well as the way the light shines through it and distorts the image underneath. The hair is far more tricky, especially as you have several colours to work with. Perhaps if you'd either started with a darker colour (clothes and hair get darker when wet) and then made the shading even darker to define them better it would help it meld better. On the plus side, you've done a fantastic job making it look suitably steamy (pun partially intended) and the shower curtain (something you could've left but I'm glad you didn't) looks surprisingly impressive. And once again, those flesh tones are exemplary. It's a pretty good job all told. It just needs the odd tweak. |
