IMPOSSIBRU! However I recently watched that episode and it was more like hovering very close to the ground and propelling herself forward. She never went more than a foot off the ground with her wings. |

The further you get from the ground, the less dense the air you're pushing down tends to be, to a certain degree. Think of why a hovercraft technically flies (doesn't ever touch the ground) but it can't go more than a few inches off the ground. This is my headcanon as to Scoot's current aerial abilities |

We also see her fly briefly in a few other episodes. What we don't see her doing is flying for a prolonged amount of time.
And if you think about it, Fluttershy flies only rarely, but nobody doubts her ability to fly at length (For all we know, Fluttershy can only fly for a few seconds at a time). I like to think Scootaloo hasn't flown on screen because the stories being told with her don't need her to fly. |
