Cart = faster speed... What? |
| 441 #912345 5 months ago |
I am actually confused over it.
I mean, why did they get in a Horse drawn carriage? How is strapping a slab of wood to your back going to make you any faster? |
| Gittonsxv #912348 5 months ago |
in there magic world carrying a heavy cart makes you faster then running! WHAT?! |
| Jackarunda #912363 5 months ago |
oh dude LordBristle I get what you're saying
when I watched the episode I literally said to myself... if the carriages are horse drawn then why didn't they just keep running like something straight out of the flintstones |
| Jackarunda #912369 5 months ago |
although that fact doesn't make this ironic
just dumb and kinda funny |

Rarity is not going to let her precious poni-pedi be dirtied. |

@Jackarunda
Horses on a horse carriage. Also, I didn't make it. |

MC Doesn't Know What Irony Is |
| Anonymous #912460 5 months ago |
It's like those man-pulled taxi carts in Japan. It's a convenience, and it was implied that Applejack paid the cart pullers. It's weird, but not impractical. |
| DJ_Paradroid #912467 5 months ago |
Maybe it's an Alanis Morissette kind of ironic.
Which is to say not at all. |
| SteveCharb #912665 5 months ago |
Quick, they're getting away! Carry me! |
| Anonymous #912927 5 months ago |
in soviet russia the word irony misues you! |
| Anonymous #913057 5 months ago |
That's not ironic. If the carriage was being pulled by humans though... |
| Aeleos #913103 5 months ago |
I would say the irony lies in the fact that the 2 pegasi are RUNNING to pull the carriage. RD could have easily caught AJ by flying. I expected that to happen, but instead, her wings were not utilized. I think it's a bit ironic. |
| Fridge_Logic #913134 5 months ago |
^Not only that, but there's also the matter of Applejack drawing the horse-drawn carriage, which, if this were a show with people, would be equivalent to four guys pulling a carriage. |
| Xuncu #913241 5 months ago |
Sicne when did physics apply to this show? |
| Anonymous #913258 5 months ago |
Perhaps it was less of a matter of speed and more of endurance? When the cart pullers tire out the one being pulled could have a fresh start. Still rather silly. |
| Anonymous #913472 5 months ago |
@frodge logic
A person in a cart being pulled by people isn't ironic |
| HeartmendSoar #913488 5 months ago |
Hooray for over-thinking a cartoon! Seriously, though. Rule of funny. |

If you look at the guarda pulling Celestias carriage you'd notice that pegasi have some passive weight defying magic in them. |

Ponies pulling other ponies.....
When something becomes so redundant and pointless, especially for the sake of humor, it most definitely fulfills the loosest term of irony. Stage coaches shouldn't exist in a world with no humans, but the exact opposite is true instead. Unless you want to sound like a complete idiot, or you want to give an essay in how there is NO ironic humor in 2 ponies driving 3 other ponies, stop arguing the issue! |
| Anonymous #918904 5 months ago |
@228
There is no incongruity here. There isn't anything contradictory about the situation. It's redundant, yes, but irony isn't about being redundant. I fire truck on fire is irony, a Trojan saying "what's the worst that could happen" before taking the horse into Troy is irony. While I understand why some would think this is irony, and I know it's poorly explained in school, this still isn't ironic. |

Cart has wheels. Once Momentum gets going, they go faster...whether they want to or not. |
