The brackets are just commentary, for the lulz maybe. They crop up elsewhere. Versprechen is just to promise, and I guess fest has the same meaning that fast's originally had (solid, binding). I keep trying to make it into a grand heroic oath before some great chief, king or moral arbiter (which is what a Pinkie Promise actually is), but no dice. |
