I didn't think it was awful, and I don't think her new one is perfect just yet, but I hope Tabitha keeps at it and improves it some.
But I feel canon is canon, and no amount of bitching will take it back. This is Derpy, and will be Derpy. I felt strongly enough about this, that I was compelled to draw this, It turned out better than I thought it would.. I'm actually kind of proud of the art. It's nothing special, but leagues better than my old stuff. But yeah, there is no use whining, and it's just sad people keep at it... =< |

The only complain I would have about Derpy voice is that I expected it to be higher-pinched, because I'm used to see clumsy characters with high-pinched voice. Derpy's voice is nice, and I hope we'll hear it more. As for haters, I'll love and tolerate THE SHIT OUTTA THEM. |

I'll admit I didn't like the voice the first time I heard it (after the "OMG Derpy just talked!" wore off) but I gave it a second chance, then a third and now I think it's adorable. Like the show itself it grows on you if you give it a chance. |

#907409 It is one thing to call out hypocrites but to insult the woman who did the fan voice is entirely uncalled for. It was merely one interpretation (which many of us liked) of an animated "extra" whose character/personality was fanon created, and whose recurring presence is an act of fan service. I, for one, am glad Studio B condescended to give us that 2 minute scene with a speaking role and will not look the gift-pony in the mouth, but she is still very much a background character and thus fair game for the viewers. I am still going to enjoy the fanon, including her "old" voice, and look forward to future cameos in the actual show, but until she is elevated to a secondary or primary player, the former image will be dominant in my (and many others') mind. TL;DR ...Just my thoughts, not ragging on the voice or her cannon portrayal, or claiming fannon is anything except that, but honestly, can't we all just get along? |

That is the point I'm trying to get across. It's nice to see most of these comments are positive, and the kind of thing I was trying to provoke with this. Showing that most of the fandom still does like derpy, and gets along, its only the most vocal who are on the extremes. The community for love and tolerance, and I personally am for accepting people's opinion's both ways, you just don't need to resort to insults and trying to make people see the other way/pushing it. |
