Perhaps it would be for the best if it was. Most of the recent fights would have been easily avoided if people managed to see canon and fanon as two separate things. |

^Most people do. Problems only arise when one extreme insists on fanon being above canon and another extreme trying to stop people from having fun with fanwork on the grounds that it isn't purely canon. It's perfectly possible to enjoy both for what they are. |
