obviusly a poster for the new version, were all the tension has been sucked out with a vacum beacuse the thing acts like generic hollywood monster number 6 rather then the intelligent, patient ambush predator is was in the original.

Lol, I just watched the prequel (not a remake) this afternoon. I grew up with the Carpenter version, and I gotta say, I don't think it was that bad. It doesn't beat the Carpenter version by any means, but it was okay - I think people are just letting their nostalgia get the better of them. |

what ruined it for me is the way the Thing acted like a idiot, the moment anyone vuegley suspected anything it burst out, in the original it waited until either noone else was there or it thought it could take them all at once, not explode beacuse the amarican bint was waving at the chopper!
And why would it wreck the chopper!? let it land, then even if it gets founf out the chopper is fine for later use! this thing built a space ship from parts it found in a storage shed! it was a genius! GAAAHHH!!! |

@902057 it does make some sense though. Given it only ran into Kate and co. first, it wouldn't know how to properly hide. By the time it reaches MacReady's camp, it has figured out how NOT to blow its cover (messing with just the blood bags, as opposed to burning up the whole lab) and how to redirect suspicion (the shredded jacket).
