I don't like where this is going, but can we all agree that the elements were assigned with good reason?? |

I've always thought the elements seemed a little mismatched. Laughter and Magic are definitely in the right place. But I was thinking maybe Kindness and Generousity could be switched, like mentioned. Fluttershy seems to be more explicitly giving than Rarity. Perhaps Loyalty and Honesty, as well. Applejack seems more like a loyal type to me, and Rainbow Dash's somewhat loose grip on tact could be construed as a kind of honesty. |

The heart was a metaphor. |

I mostly agree with the notion of Applejack and Rainbow Dash having their elements switched up.
Friendship is Witchcraft did that best, where they were dubbing the lines over their voices. |

Personally, I think they chose the elements that conflict with their personalities the most, just to teach people about prejudice, again except for Twilight.
Rarity She is a high class stubborn girl, seeing her you would never think that she is generous, so the makers made her the most generous pony just to teach about not coming up with pre-conceived ideas about high class people. Rainbow Dash She is a fast paced action type of girl, why would she be loyal and wait around for you? So they made her the very element of it. I would do the rest but I'm going outside for the first time in years. |

Nothing to do with discussion, but I'd like to say that the outside is one dreadful place. I went out for the first time since almost a year and found myself locked out my house TWICE. The first time going back home from school, the second ine coming back from the movie theatre with a very good friend. Both times i had to wait almost an hour in a below zero weather until someone finally showed up (there's almost always someone in my house, so i didn't bother to brinkg my keys). I shall take this as an obvious sign, AND SO SHOULD YOU. NEVER TRUST THE OUTSIDE |

Each pony's element is the one that is most vital to their worth and well-being. They have to remember it and learn about it all the time because without it they'd just be assholes. Rarity can weave a web of lies and it comes out okay, but when Applejack avoids the truth everything goes bad. Pinkie Pie can be greedy or inconsiderate and still be cool, but when she takes something too seriously she turns into a nightmare. Some of them really struggle with it, like Rainbow Dash. Sometimes she can be a douchebag for a whole episode before a tortoise has to remind her what loyalty is about. But if she resolved to devote herself to honesty or laughter instead, it wouldn't redeem her. |
