Bubbly and weird and clumsy, but swift-talking might've worked better. Slow bot loveable (all ponies are supposed to be loveable) is difficult to convey in a handful of lines of dialogue. She initially sounds a bit like the VA talking with her tongue stuffed in her lower lip which here at least is insulting someone's intelligence, maybe even going back to the days of cretinism or emerging knowledge about it. Here being the UK though, disabled comedians tend to pick up on that, turn it around and use it to great effect, which generates delicious spasms of embarrassment amongst the less active-thinking or activist people in the audience just as it should. In this case I think ownership isn't really being taken back, which is problematic.

I liked the Derpy part,it's funny and it has derpy being kind of a kluts. The voice is ok but i felt it kinda went all over the place, some parts were good, some lines fit nicely,but a couple (though few) lines sounded silly and slightly like Patrick from spongebob. So i haven't fully decided on the voice.
But i still like the canon Derpy, i mean she's still Derpy and i have always liked Derpy, hell i have a derpy hat. |
