@Mushi Heehee. A few were saying that the big beefy stallion in the old opening was him pre-hormones ("Creme Brulee"/ "Chance-a-lot"), the one you see during Winter Wrap-Up is him on hormones and the mare with similar coloring and symbol in Appaloosa is him after getting the operation.
Though...it wouldn't be the first time a character changed sex in a kids' cartoon. Plum Puddin' in Strawberry Shortcake started as a nerdy boy and ended up a girl, thanks to confusion at the studio. |

I absolutely love that Lyra is the only pony who is NOT watching the mayor in this scene. Perhaps not as big as Derpy, but definitely a shoutout for the bronies. |
