*Sees something not pony related*
"I know, I'll add a Derpy!"

No need to convince me though, I've been boycotting them since the SOPA bill was introduced.

I'll do it, not like I actually buy music ever anyway, don't do movies much, and there's only a couple games or books I'm buy during that month anyway, so why not?

Isn't March when Mass Effect 3 comes out and perhaps Diablo 3?

Too much random scapegoating, not enough calculated strikes. Videogames? That industry THRIVES on a free internet. Gabe Newell himself opposes SOPA/PIPA. EA's for it from what I hear, but <scoffs> EA...

You want to do some damage? Repeat the GoDaddy boycott. Find a supporter of censorship, and focus entirely on them. Films are getting rear-ended anyway with the advent of digital distribution, I haven't gone to a cinema in about 5 years.

Hit a single target hard, and they'll change their stance. Keep it up, and everyone will be forced into censorship neutrality or opposition by the hands of the people. Problem Solved.

I applaud what you're going for OP, but it's not unlike what happens we folks boycott the oil companies by not purchasing gasoline on a Thursday. Everyone just tops off their car on Wednesday. So where was the economical squeeze?

I mean do it anyway, it causes for PR groups to lose their shit. But best to write to those companies and tell them to get with the times.

I'd love to vote with my money like this... unfortunately there are far too many stupid people with disposable incomes who, regardless of how they feel, will continue buying from idiots.

Case in point: apple.

ACTA is the real threat, and it's being voted on in less than a week.

Why would you pay money to people who are trying to destroy you and what you love?

Don't pay for RIAA music, and don't pay for MPAA movies. Not just in March, but ever. Just don't do it. If you don't want to pirate, there are a whole lot of other things you can listen to and watch. If you like artists, send them a check (They get a FUCK TON more money this way). There's no reason a single dime should make it from your pocket to Chris Dodd's.

I already never pay for movies, music and tv so I'm already doing my part.
