It's marginal, but it sort of makes sense. Individually the speed of the group is determined by the slowest member, probably Twi or Rarity. Fluttershy may not be super-athletic, but she can use her wings and match stride lengths with RD. Plus the wagon is not a dead load with friction, it's a wheeled load. So that's 2PP across an inertiaful but relatively frictionless load vs. 1PP each for the group. Walking or running is about 4x less efficient than wheeled person-powered locomotion - speaking as a cyclist - so that's 1/1 vs. (4*2)/5, or 1.6 times more speed. Totally handwaving about bike gears and extra pegasus limbs and pretending they'd cancel. |
