Oh yeah. The part with the bear was pretty scary, I remember.
I don't remember it being "depressing", though. Then again, I'm the kind of guy who laughs and pokes fun* at Space Runaway Ideon and Zambot 3, even in their bitter finales. And even Victory Gundam. So maybe I'm not a good benchmark. :/ *in a sort of MST3K fashion, not the "it's funny when people die" nigh-sociopathic deal. |

The ending of Daitarn 3 kind of confused me more than anything. It seemed bittersweet, like Banjo had been left hollow upon achieving his revenge. Everybody left, but there's no mention of what really happened to Banjo. Like, I guess implications are there, but what happened? So, eh. But Daitarn was just a fun series all throughout. Especially when it was Banjo shooting fools. The best part was when he shot fools in his underwear at the Arctic Circle. HECK YES BANJO IS AWESOME.
I haven't really watched Shin Mazinger yet (I'll shave my head as penance). But I've seen bits and pieces. Looks cool. Hopefully it doesn't have lots of people dying as in the Mazinkaiser vs. General of Darkness movie. |
