Gilda does strike me as the kind of person who would be brought to heel by meeting a person bigger than them who doesn't get riled up by her taunts. Gentle Giant Big Mac meets both criteria, which is why he strikes me as the best person to ship with Gilda. |

You haven't seen what Gilda is like around males she likes, so I say this is actually plausible.
In fact, I find this a massively interesting ship. The mane six freaking out over what the "adults" are up to makes it even better. How many of us know the feeling of a sibling or friend dating someone you have no idea what they see in, and yet those traits you loathe may actually count as charming for someone else. Humanized Gilda is probably a jacket wearing smoking trash talking motorcycle riding rebel, registering as a "bad person" for most young ponies, "cool" for other young ones, but a normal person they understand for someone of Mac's age. |

Dear Cheerilee, If you ever saw a Valentine's Day episode from old cartoons, you would know that external forces (may or may not be of the 'potion' variety) pair two characters up for the duration of the episode, then either wear out or get cancelled by an antidote just in time to make them agree to be "just friends" and restore the status quo right before the credits roll.
