Twilestia is higher up as a Celestia ship for me than it is a Twilight ship. Then again, other than Princest, there aren't many good Celestia ships.

Twixie has some awesome fics to back it up, like Of Mares and Magic and Out In The Cold. Twiluna is usually cute, with some great ones like Within and Without and Apotheosis. Haven't seen many Twilestia fics, but its a cute combo. |

Oh, no doubt about that. I'm just saying that character-wise, Twixie isn't really justified. Twilight would probably be receptive enough, but Trixie -regardless of who's at fault- is guaranteed to absolutely hate her. She needs someone to blame for the destruction of her life in general, if for no other reason than to have some abstract thing to work towards. Trixie would likely crave vengeance, but in the end she wouldn't have the heart to carry out her revenge. Maybe then it could work, with the last of the wind blown out of her sails.
Twilestia is cute, but it's especially tricky to avoid the pseudo-incest. Celestia is, after all, practically Twilight's second mother. Past that, it's usually kind of sad. Celestia's attraction is usually fed by bottomless loneliness, and even if the relationship works out she'll still end up burying Twilight like those who came before her, and those who will inevitably come afterwards. Rarely averted, because making Twilight an alicorn would be stupid. Twiluna, however, has just about everything going for it. |

TwiLuna is a godawful out-of-character mess for both characters.
TwiLestia is usually an extension of Molestia which is GREAT BECAUSE RAPE JOKES ARE JUST HILARIOUS, RIGHT GUYS? Twixie is the 4th most retarded ship this fandom loves for no particular reason right behind Rarijack, Twidash, and Appledash. |

Not a fan of Twilestia, since I always thought Twilight saw Celestia as a mother figure...
Twiluna works pretty well - some awesome fics like Common Sky. Twixie is best ship. Anyone who disagrees is invited to read Of Mares and Magic and/or The Fascinating yet Obvious Twixie. |

The show doesn't have too many pairings. It is mostly just side characters. But if a love story must be written then it is the author's skill that matters not the pairing. :)
In the end it is all about having deep understanding of characters' personalities and then working them in a situation that brings them together. ^w^ |

Twixie is Twilight's most prominent ship, with a large deal of great stories and art. TwiLuna doesn't get much of anything, art or story-wise. TwiLesta usually just gets smut, or Molestia themed art, unfortunately. |

To be perfectly honest, I see some slight merit on all of them...they're all fairly cute, but I agree predominantly with #885054 for pretty much all of the reasons he specified.
Personally, however, I sort of ship TwiDash, Pinkie/Twilight...and Pinkie/Dash. And then all three together for the One True Threesome. xD Pinkie's bubbly personality, supplanted by Twilight's level-headed intellect and Dash's fired up passions...I think it all rounds out quite nicely. |

Here's something I wonder. On the show, Twilight loses her shit at the thought of upsetting or disappointing Celestia. Imagine how much worse she'd freak out if they were together and had a lover's quarrel or broke up.

#886855 Luna seems to handle her immortality better. She's almost innocent, in that she has yet to really understand the consequences of being unable to die. So she'd just chalk it up to "huh, I outlived her".
And as for her nights being unappreciated, the inverse is now true: Ponies work during the day, and they party at night. It's odd, Luna nearly committed planetary genocide, yet ponies warm right up to her. Celestia, on the other hand, scares the shit out of everypony without even meaning to, and she's done nothing wrong... that we know of. |
