I wonder if Twilight ever tries to imagine what it'd be like if she had her friends earlier, perhaps in school. |

I wrote a fanfic idea about that once.
Twilight returns to Canterlot for Family Reunion Day (she has to meet her parents at least -once- a year right...?) and runs into the ponies from the first episode (Moondancer, Twinkle, Colgate and others) some of whom live there and some of whom are also visiting, and founds that they all know her but she does not even remember their names. She panicks and decides to show everypony what she learned in Ponyville and throw them the best party ever (overdoing it as usual...) When she blows it she decides that those ponies must hate her but they assure her that that never was the case and many of them admired her studiousness and only wanted to be friendly with her, not change her, and came for her and not for a grandiose party. It ends with an important lesson about there always being ponies (people) who care for you even if you do not notice them, and that even if you have found a new friends, it is also important not to forget your old ones. It was one of my favourite story tidbits and show faithful too, so maybe I should write & post it sometime. |
