Oh? That's not what it's about? ;) (Another answer: I was about to suggest the more bizarre Star Wars races each pony would represent. I wonder just how "magical" diversity would still be, then.) My point being, the wonderful thing about this show is that it shows how different and diverse girls can be without having to even touch race. Race doesn't determine one's personality. A human race may have a particular culture and norms associated with it, but those are learned things--not necessarily anything inherent about a race. People tend to make unfortunate and inaccurate stereotypes about races. It bothers me that people focus so much on what makes us different from each other, rather than what makes us similar. It turns into "us" versus "them", and that does not bring unity, and it certainly isn't magical. |

Which is to say, the show shows the three races as ponies as equals, and each gets along with each other fine. The show is called "Friendship is Magic" because friendship is what brings people together, not "diversity".
No one talks about how Twilight would have trouble making friends with earth ponies or pegasus ponies. What I have noticed is people talk first about the ponies' personalities--as it should be. What race the other ponies are don't even enter into the equation. |

Ugh, I just meant to say is that I'm annoyed at how anytime diversity is brought up, it only seems to serve how different we are from each other.
My whole point was, I'd love something that shows that we are more alike than we all think we are. Kind of like how a little girls' cartoon appeals to guys...we need something that crosses these gaps and creates some sort of relate-able, identifiable understanding. We need something that cuts through all the stereotypes and something that doesn't feel forced. I guess my complaint isn't about diversity, because I fully embrace it. I often don't like how it's implemented, how it feels "forced". People need to embrace it willingly of their own accord for it to truly work. |

Forced diversity is simply bigotry with a different name. And I hate niggers, I won't even lie about it. I don't treat them any differently then I would anyone else but I don't like them, that's just the way it is. The problem is that PC retards think we SHOULD ACCEPT and TOLERATE each other, we shouldn't. We should have our own ideas and opinions, what it shouldn't do, s influence how we interact with others to a sever degree. I may hate blacks, but I'm not going to dress up in a bedsheet and lynch them. I simply don't like them. |
