I like the thought that Spike is one of the few sane beings in Equestria. Really helps bridge the audience to the show.
A lot of people like to put Spike to the side, but he's probably the one character who does his role best. Oh, and amazing comic. The last panel actually had me laughing in real life. |

Spike a prince? Huh, seems more like an indentured servant to me, or a slave. Really it comes down to how the ponies got his egg. Maybe they found it and saved it? Maybe they stole it? Maybe Spike's parents sold his egg to pay of a debt? Who knows. But spike has been magically altered to send and recieve letters, which the Princess is willing to cause him great discomfort in doing if the need arises. |
