I think Cheerilee and Scootaloo would've done what any sisters would do if they were student and teacher: change classes.

No, but I am even more sure than before that she's the only pegasus in her family, feels self-conscious about it and weird around them, and so has latched onto the most iconic-of-the-breed pegasus in her life. |

Alicorns are genetically modified beings designed to unite the pony races, after they settled Equestria. I made that up but it works better than "Celestia and Luna are goddesses", simply because their only god-like power other than immortality, manual raising of the Sun, was a power that plain old unicorns also possessed. |
