If this is anything like the PPG episode where the girls try to set Professor with their Teacher, then status quo is god.
Although, I would love character development between them especially since they are BG characters. Compared to Spike and Rarity, though, this is different. Spike's crush on Rarity isn't a one shot thing, fans are repeatedly reminded by it through multiple episodes. If you look at that crush as a running gag, then status quo is god. But if you look at it as a Chekov's gun, then something's gonna happen. I'd like to think it was a Chekov's gun placed on the first episode of season 1 then fired on the tenth episode of season 2. |

Pff, I'll ship characters for the sake of good romance, but I'm no sick fuck. Romance is good for characterization. Past that, well shit I've only read a couple of clopfics, merely for lulz. I have read a few really good shipfics with clop material, though. Everyone will mention Romance Reports. Incredible writing and character development, but holy fuck it gets dirty.

I love it how whenever details of future episodes are revealed, there is ALWAYS a section of fans that are eager to press the Ruined Forever button, despite, you know, this exact same thing happening numerous times before. Everyone was speculating like crazy about Discord, and the actual thing was better than any of them. Luna's episode spawned endless fears, but again everything went far better than expected. Eventually we might be able to accept that the Pony crew know exactly what they're doing, but I doubt it. |
