A bittersweet ship. On one hand, it's absolutely adorable and pretty much justified. On the other hand, they cannot grow old together: Sooner or later, Celestia WILL have to bury Twilight, and her life will become desolate and lonely. She doesn't have the luxury of mortality.

I can almost ship it. Almost. But for my money?

"She was as close as I would ever come to a foal of my own; our kind are not meant to continue in such a fashion. Her triumphs were my pride, her failings my wounds. I raised the sun for her reading lamp and set it so she could see the stars. For all the days she was my student, I knew a mother's love.

She has been dust for centuries.

It has been enough."

Yeah, Twilight's too close to being Celestia's adoptive daughter to really be shipped that way. Although one can still do it if they're willing to address the moral and ethical issues. I mean, sure it'd be a bit squicky, but love is love, right? And they're not related so there you go. No squick.

@Youcloppin I just have to show that one to the artist.

Oh maaaaaaaan, Cloppin. That's some deep words right there.

What hurts the most is that Celestia is basically doomed to be alone forever. Having a sister is not the same as having a lover, or a child.

Hmmm... Maybe not. At least in Twilight's case. We know Twilight is the most powerful Unicorn in the world, probably third only to the princesses. We know that her name refers to the space between night and day, Sun and Moon. We can assume the limits of magic in Equestria as much higher than what has been shown. And we cannot other what the effects could be of bearing one of the Elements of Harmony.

I think that if people (fans or the creators) wanted Twilight to last, as involved with Celestia or not, it wouldn't take that much convincing for people to believe it was possible.

By all means, Velcro. I enjoy writing these little snippets when the spirit moves me. Glad people liked that one.

A little proof I'm not just a miserable anti-fun critic of the absolutely wretched fandom culture we've created.

@YouCloppinToFoalsBro KS4U seemed to like it. She gets rather tired of all of her Twilestia pictures instantly being interpreted as sexual all the time, sometimes.

That might have something to do with the fact a bunch of it is sexual.
Like, I get it, but she needs to see where she made it happen.

Not tired. I know what I draw and how it leads some to think. I just said it's nice for something innocent to be taken as such. Not everything need have a devious meaning behind it. :)

Heh...fair enough. I adore the emotional adoption angle between them when combined with Celestia's immortality, and it just kind of moved me.

It's one of the only Celestia ships I like, and I've certainly enjoyed what you've done for it, but it's also nice to see them in a more innocent love.
