Out of all logic an reasoning. I would presume that foal unicorns would not be birthed with a horn, or it would be much much much smaller. That could be potentially dangerous for the dam ( mother ). Especially considering that generally a foal is birthed head first...

@ #876499 Do remember that Celestia cares deeply about each and every last one of her little ponies, and likes to check in on them and make sure they're alright when she can. Also, it's not too unusual for passersby to lean their heads in to snag a glimpse of a newborn. |

@ ZeldaTheSwordsman - That makes sense. It also reminds me of a Chinese comic taking place in a waiting room outside a hospital delivery room. Eventually after two guys are called in to see their newborns, the main character (who doesn't have one) is asked by the nurse if he's waiting for a baby. The character says no, and that he's there just for the experience. He's then promptly thrown out.
