Words cannot do justice the fall from grace Sonic has experienced.
He has gone from King to lowliest of bottomfeeders. Colors was great, but it was too little too late. Sonic is dead. |
| IpersonallylikedCupcakes #875595 6 months ago |
Don't do it, Flo! If you do, you'll star in dozens of fanfics where you're shipped with Tails! |
| HeinousActsZX #875598 6 months ago |
I thought it was pretty funny. |
| Anonymous #875599 6 months ago |
Personally I thought it was funny.
The fact that Progressive wanted him in their commercial is a pretty good indication he's still relevant. |
| Takanuva #875603 6 months ago |
^Me too. But still; what? |
| Takashi_0 #875610 6 months ago |
Anon1 is a massive faggot.
I lol'd like crazy. |

> inb4 thread full of people who clearly haven't played Sonic Generations
OH WAIT I was a bit late on that one... |
| marioandsonic #875623 6 months ago |
The thing I'm wondering is: why haven't they done this with the Sonic fast food chain? |
| Anonymous #875625 6 months ago |
I'm glad someone laughed.
But still, while he may still be relevant I just can't take him seriously anymore. Sega does SO much stupid shit with him. |
| Anonymous #875626 6 months ago |
@592 You are incorrect in saying he is the lowliest of bottomfeeders. If he couldn't help them move product, Progressive wouldn't use him. To put it in your terms, if he were dead, they wouldn't dare touch him.
As such, Fluttershy should be happy here instead of sad. This is a good sign, not a bad one. |

Snoopy selling Meatlife, Ok I get that one.
Erin Ensurance was made just for that purpose Sonic looking for Auto Insurance ..... not very sure it can work. |
| Anonymous #875635 6 months ago |
I think it would have made more sense if he was helping Tails look for insurance for one of his... car... plane... vehicle... doohickeys. |
| Anonymous #875641 6 months ago |
Well I hope I'm just being cynical then. I'd love for Sonic to make a comeback. That shit was so awesome back in the day. |
| Anonymous #875645 6 months ago |
Sense is not an issue. Anybody remember the Sonic Spaghetti-O-esque thing? Made less sense, but I ate those things like there was no tomorrow. And as I recall, they tasted just fine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh0V68c1ybw |
| Right_Infinity #875652 6 months ago |
Sonic should take an educated guess where Dr.Robotnik/Eggdude will strike next (Ancient ruins/Entire world/Chilli dog factory) buy up the property, and take out insurance on it for massive profit.
Come to think of it, it'd be easy to mug sonic at the ATM. Poke him with a needle, mace him in the face and run off with his withdrawal. |
| Anonymous #875654 6 months ago |
@875645
It's different when a character is used to promote a licensed product with his picture on it. This's just a company using Sonic has a excuse for commercial of a product that has nothing to do with the character itself. |
| Skully #875771 6 months ago |
3 stages from the "Classic" era while the rest where "modern" stages. I don't see how it was called Generations. |
| okami6969 #875861 6 months ago |
Sonic Generations is amazing. I think Sonic is making his comeback. |
| Anonymous #875892 6 months ago |
@654
Now that I think about it, the commercial is basically reminding the people who grew up with the Genesis how old they are and that they need insurance now. |
| I_Like_Your_Mane #875944 6 months ago |
Sonic Advance and Rush series were amazing.
Plus, many stages in Sonic Adventure series, Sonic Heroes, Sonic 2006 and ESPECIALLY Sonic Unleashed were pretty damn good. Sonic fans are just insanely picky. |
| Anonymous #876045 6 months ago |
^ Well, the old Genesis games were more or less 2D perfection, so that's why they have high standards.
As much as I love the Adventure games there are some things about them that still drive me batty. |
| Posey #876066 6 months ago |
OP is the first person I know of to whine over this promo. Most Sonic fans I've heard of love it - it shows that he's still very popular.
Also.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDDP9OXF354 |
| Takashi_0 #876075 6 months ago |
^Agreed. The main problem with the first adventure is that it's so linear when you beat the first time (assuming you can get past Big's STUPID FUCKING FISHING LEVELS), it's not as fun the second or third time around.
That and for all the bitching about how it and SA2 had better voice actors compared to Jason Griffith and the 4kids cast, Ryan drummond and a few of the others really dropped the ball on line delivery. (The bizarre facial expressions the character models had didn't help much either.) On the other hand, you'd have to torture me pretty damn hard to say negative things about SA2. Everything from the first one was made a thousand times better. (barring a few exceptions.) The acting, the animation, the nonlinearity, almost everything. Fuck, even though SA1 had it's fair share of awesome tunes (OPEN YOUR HEART, IT'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT~), SA2 was all like "HOLY SHIT." You have no right to call yourself a sonic fan if you don't know the words to the best final sonic boss music pre-unleashed. LIVE AND LEARN!

@Takashi_0 My favorite Sonic songs have to be that one and This one. |
| Anonymous #876372 6 months ago |
This is nothing compared to what Esurance has gone through, getting rid of the popular Erin Esurance for stupid ads showing Office-Hell "Comedy" and now getting rid of that for even more stupid ads having boring voiceovers. |

The car insurance things makes sense if you've been following the franchise...
But who does such a thing? |
| Wheezie_Moonflower #880257 6 months ago |
this reminds me of Devo's sellout moment to Swiffer. My jaw dropped so hard when I saw that ad. I really cried that night. |
| SupaShoopa #1177597 3 months ago |
Is it bad I liked that commercial? |
| Anonymous #1288986 2 months ago |
@592
"Dead" is a pretty strong word. Are you sure he can't be revived? Is this one single commercial Batman and Robin bad? Is it Superman IV bad? Be honest. |
