Its the natural flow of groups. When a group(or fan base) grows larger, so does the number of the disenfranchised masses. Basically it equates like this, the larger and more diverse the group, the larger and more diverse the hatedom becomes. |

To add, its also because as the group gains notoriety it also begins to "grow stale" to those outside the group. They get sick of seeing it as they aren't directly a part of it and have no vested interest in it proliferation. Also, a larger group means a larger fringe, which becomes more visible and more accepted...at least internally. External views are another matter. |
