Neutral is meant for people who aren't inclined to help other people out of heart, but who don't like hurting people either. I still prefer the 4th Edition alignment rules though, which is that you have to put a conscious effort into whatever you support, rather than it being some vague personality description. |

@Anon279: RD has a classic well done Chaotic Neutral personality. Loyal to friends, but not necessarily willing to go out of her way to help others.
As for Trixie, she's Neutral Evil because she cares only for herself, which is a defining aspect of the alignment. |

Rainbow Dash is in no way Chaotic Neutral. Chaotic Neutral characters are defined by their selfishness, and are loyal to absolutely no one. If they cooperate with someone, it is only because their goals happen to coincide. The moment their goals differ, the Chaotic Neutral character will leave the team, and probably betray them in the process.
Furthermore, trying to say that any of the ponies are Neutral is just silly. Neutral characters do not care about the life or dignity of other creatures. Are you trying to tell me that ANY of the ponies would walk past an injured pony that needed their help, just because they have something more important to do? |

Discord is sure chaotic but by no means evil because while he partied hard dealing chaos left and right he didn't actually kill anyone... he just transformed Equestria into one huge acid dream.
While a Chaotic Evil character would trn it into a hellhole raining alicorn blood. |

Discord CE: Does whatever he feels like without regard for the suffering it causes, so ya.
Trixie NE: Does what benefits her and only cares about herself, so ya. NMM LE: Yup. Rainbow Dash CN: Acts on feelings, without a direct leaning towards good or evil... ya I can see this. Pinkie Pie CG: See Para-sprite, immediately act to deal with it outside of 'official' channels, so yes. Twilight Sparkle LG: Was there ever any doubt? Fluttershy NG: Borders on breaking the law in an attempt to aid another, seems logical. Apple Jack TN: Does right by her family and friends, trys to avoid being caught up in moral debates, seems right. Rarity LN: Belives in order, and wants to be an important part of it, reasonable. So basically, I belive this is a fairly good chart. |

Alternativelly for Chaotic Good would be Celestia, acts as the greatest force of good in Equestria, and at same time, hates most tradictions, finds her job the most boring thing and will pull any prank possible, as long as it don't hurt anyone. |
