Flash isn't allowed because it's a site safety risk. Someone can make a flash that, one time out of 100, will redirect the user to a page with browser exploits on it. There's no way for me to stop it, and Ponibooru would end up taking the blame for hacking people's computers.
So, no flash. Sorry! |

I had an Ottakar's and, subsequently, now have a Waterstone's book card. Well, during the first wave of attention the books had (and during a three for two on science fiction sale that Terry Pratchett did rather well on), I decided to read some of it in the shop (I'm such a rebel, aren't I?).
It was painful. Now, I'm not really a huge Harry Potter fan, but I've read all of the books. I don't even find J. K. Rowling's writing style to be all that creative (I've always found that whenever she needs a new way to describe something, it's always a case of "highlight, right-click, synonyms"), but I'll be damned if she doesn't know how to make characters interesting, not to mention that she's a devil for making the odd setting here and there seem real (the most memorable to me being the Weasley household). The Twilight series cannot come close to that. It's an agonising, inscrutable mess. |
