Thats not how genetics works, more importantly it was
very obvious Mr Cake made his excuse up.
Hence the "that makes sense right?" line.
There is only one way 2 earth ponies had non-earth pony children.

People keep asking cause it makes no sense, in any way shape or form, at all, ever.

Yes, it's the only thing in this show about magical talking ponies that makes no sense at all!

Lauren Faust already confirmed Mr. Cake's explanation a long while back.

Let's focus instead on Pound's "FuckyaWANT?" stare here.

8475: Yeah, because the canon explanation isn't as much fun as portraying a children's cartoon character as a SLUT.

Amirite?

If "Mrs. Cake was cheating" was the explanation, they would both be either unicorns or pegasi.

More likely explanation is that unicorn+pegasi=earth pony.

If canon explanation is scheisse and trite nonsense...

No, of course Mrs Cake aint no slut.
We all know the reason, and it is meddling.
Plain and simple meddling.
Why did they meddle?
Well...

What I want to know is, when do foals eyes turn normal?
And what is the reason they look like that in the first place?
Anyone got ideas?
Guesses?

Anons, get off the genetics question. It was addressed in the episode itself, we've debated it long before that. There's nothing interesting to be said about it.

I can't help but be reminded of the scene from Jurassic park with pinkie as the raptor.

There is no such thing as a pure bloodline, there are always recessive genes, that is how 2 earth ponies have a unicorn daughter and pegasus son, this is comparable to real life, as white couples can have a black child, because of a recessive black gene showing up, and vice-versa so this operates on the same principal.

You're talking about human genetics not equine.
