Mrs Cake's Great aunt's second cousin twice removed was probably a pegasus due to a) having an undocumented common pegasus ancestor to Mrs Cake at least three generations back, and b) having his or her other parent carry the peg gene. That's assuming peg (or uni) are simple Mendelian recessive traits.

I figure, if the writers needed an out for being able to have different race offspring then WHY DONT THEY JUST FUCKING SAY SO?
I mean, its like they didnt even try to explain the plothole.... they just had seemingly random family members of the races. And then they just kind of say "That's how it works, right?" Its a bit of a slap in the face, if you ask me. I mean, they write the show... doesnt that mean that they make the general rules too? The writers could come up with a way of either A) Making sense of all of it or B) Not even mentioning it, or questioning whether or not it works.... This would mean that it is common knowledge to all and no one would have to ask. As viewers, we would initially question it, but then leave the reasoning up to us... We would take it as a canon fact that different races can come from parents of only one race. Having Mr. Cake reassure himself suspiciously doesnt help the cause that now adultery is a possible explanation... In fact it eggs it on! It kind of ruins the whole innocence of this show by implying that a character is having an affair outside of marriage. The writers just complicated things by doing this and providing no explanation for the audience.... I think the writing in this episode was severely lacking in the first place.... It just seems uninspired and weak, not explaining things, like how the babies have supernatural powers, or their origins even. UNTIL THIS EPISODE, NO ONE KNEW MRS. CAKE WAS EXPECTING, OR THEY DIDNT EVEN REFERENCE IT. TL;DR This episode's writing staff are either ignorant or just inexplicable trolls. |
