^^ The "original FPS" award would go to Hovertank 3D, Midi Maze and Maze War. Wolfenstein 3D got the genre going and Doom finally cemented the genre as an industry heavyweight.
(Incidentally, Hovertank, Wolfenstein and Doom were all developed by id Software.) |
