Dash isn't even very good at looking after Tank. I mean, where is he? She didn't even use the ol' "gotta go walk the tortoise" excuse. He probably fell to his death just after the episode finished. That thing didn't look like it could hold a magical charge for long. |

I'd assume it has a lot to do with the Cakes' familiarity with Pinkie Pie's cake slurping, party throwing, fourth wall breaking, little girl stuck in a full grown mare's body ways. Pinkie Pie does live with Mr. and Mrs. Cake, so they see and know how she acts on a regular basis.
Now Rainbow Dash may be super competitive, an egomaniac, a more malicious prankster, and sometimes lazy, but like Pinkie's other friends they don't see her on a day to day basis so they wouldn't know about some of her more negative traits. Of course they'd go to her before Pinkie. |
