Colbert and his writers' brand of silly slapstick + referential comedy is very similar to MLP:FIM's in a way. I'm not surprised if they like the show too. They are not a cynical lot. They do nerd jokes ALL THE TIME. I love it! |

Unfortunately, I think it's more that one of his writers is a brony. Not Colbert himself.
Cause on another episode he did a shout out to the Bronies and then did a gesture that makes me think he had only a small idea of what he was talking about. |
