Nukes are bad. They're small, inefficient, and expensive. That's why you use starships to accelerate rocks to fractional-c speeds! Cheap (assuming you have a spaceship) clean, and you can decide just how much power it has! From an itty-bitty tank-buster all the way to a planet cracker, projectiles at sufficient velocity are the answer! Buy today! |

Correction Karazor, you need a spaceship capable of that, it has to be big enough for it, if it's to small you'll just crash into the rock. |

Nukes enable a single aircraft or missile to deliver the destructive power that before required hundreds man-hours, personnel, aircraft and munitions. The use of them also practically eliminates the risk of allied casualties due to AA guns or SAMs. To say we should go back to using iron bombs instead of various types of nukes because they're too destructive is like saying we should go back to using hatchets and swords because guns are too destructive. @NightJack As long as you've got the fuel and the time, it doesn't matter how big the ship is. ;-)
Of course, if you have cyclonic torpedoes, those should be employed, rather than use the Emperor's fuel and take up months of the Emperor's ship's time. To do otherwise risks being assigned to punitive accounting! |

You forget star fighter type ships, they are only meant to take out other ships to defend the larger ones, they would never have the fuel needed to do that. |
