You know, the Mane 6 all appear to be adults. Two of them manage their own businesses, two more are employed, and two more live comfortably alone. Considering how incredibly young Twilight was when he was hatched, I'd say Spike is around their age. And mentally, at least, he seems to have matured at the same rate as a pony, considering he's been raised by them. It's not a stretch to think that he and Rarity could stay together. |

This scene really doesn't have as many interpretations as fans might want to think. It means Rarity knows about Spike's crush and she's happy.
How long has she known or why she's happy can't really be known right now but I'd like to think there would be a happy ending. I'd hate to think that Spike is destined to eventually become a monster and live the rest of his life that way. If greed matures dragons into monsters, I wanna see what generosity matures them into. |

Where do people get the idea that Twilight was so young when she hatched Spike? it was kinda stated in the EP that they were all around the CMC's ages when they got their Cutie marks, that means Twilight was somewhere around ten when she hatched Spike, that would probably make Spike around the CMC's age right now. It just kills me how people seem to think Spike is an adult when it's pointed out on so many eps just HOW young he still is |

He's definitely NOT and adult, but he's not quite a little kid either. He's demonstrated remarkable maturity for what is supposed to be an infant, so I'd say he's more along the lines of a tween. Give him two or three years. |

Eh, maybe his emotional maturation vastly outstrips his physical maturation. He's repeatedly shown to be more level-headed and mature than most.
Also, what the hell is going on with his legs in that picture? His feet aren't that long and last time I checked, he had shins. |

Spike probably acts more rational than the other kids, because he spends all his time around a socially awkward, over-analyzing nerd that keeps treating him like an adult. I know what I'm talking about. When I was little I was forced to grow up too fast as well. I was more mature than the other kids, but I still had my childish thoughts, fears and challenges. So does Spike.
Seeing how long dragons live it isn't crazy to think they grow up more slowly. |

Why can't people stop arguing over whether it's "right" or "wrong" for them to be in love strictly based on their ages (which we don't even know).
Love isn't always something that can be neatly defined, and it's not something that can be constrained to arbitrary rules. Love is something that just happens, and it can be messy and awkward because of that, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. Anyway, nobody's saying that being in love means you have to jump in bed right away. |

PinkieDie is correct. Its canon in the show that Spike (and probably all dragons) rapidly age based on their state of mind and emotion not time. Maturity has always been a state of mind and emotion even for humans.
If you wanna see how mature Spike is, look at the friends he hangs around with. You don't see Spike hang out with the CmC because their children. He hangs out with the same friends Twilight hangs out with. He goes on business trips by himself to Canterlot as mentioned in Look Before you Sleep; He was the only one mature enough to help Twilight by doing the right thing in Lesson Zero; And none of the other characters ever consider Spike's crush on Rarity as childish or that he's too young. Twilight downright even encourages Spike's crush in Boast Busters by telling Spike to "forget the mustache and just be yourself". By giving Spike advice to "be himself" to woo Rarity instead of telling him that "he's too young" tells me that Twilight takes Spike's crush seriously. He is not a child. |

Reference where he's said to be the same age as the adult ponies and just as mature. And stop the wishful thinking. Spike isn't a Nice Guy who is tryng to woo the Mean Girl. Rarity is a nice lady and Spike's kind of a brat. |

you know what i find funny? People say "Spike's young" and i'm like... "yeah... well alot of proof points otherwise"
"HE SHOULD BE DATING SWEETIE BELLE OR THE CMC" now that's where stupidity reaches a highpoint. he's young, but not THAT young. Besides, If he was infact hatched when the mane 6 were young fillies, what makes you think that he's still young enough to be shipped with those CMC? by that logic, that means Spike will still be young even after the CMC grow up. The way i see it, Spike is growing steadily, and when he's ready. He and Rarity could kindle their love. She's nurturing his feelings, till she's ready to accept him as a grown respectable dragon. but seeing how this show like continuity, i can see when this show finally reaches it's series finale, (which personally, don't want anytime soon.. but knowing it'll come soon... for example look at Grim Adventure of Billy and Mandy, good show, but the creator wanted closure, so he ended it. MLP might have that opportunity, and when it does... hopefully not for a loooong time, that Sparity DOES happen, fast forward to when Spike is older and happy with Rarity. Hopefully, a somewhat normal size dragon, like a Teenage Dragon Size) |
