It would make sense if there were more Alicorns, but even then, they'd end up with weaker versions of all three traits, not stronger. |
| Zancrow #855396 6 months ago |
Nope, a true alicorn also has an earth pony in it. |

I don't think genetics work like that.
I imagine they are something like the tribunal from Morrowind, they ascended to godhood once they gained the power of the elements of harmony and now that they aren't connected to them anymore they are now mortal and slowly dying. Probably not true but it would make for an interesting crossover. |

@396 Earth pony is on the chart... |

Looks like someone missed biology class in school, heh.
genetics does not work like that. It was discussed billion times already and some guy even managed to convince Seth to post his "research" on the subj on EqD. Also, didn't Lauren replied regarding the question herself? Afair, it was asked. |

Damnit! I just saw Rarity and Rainbow Dash and read the second line....
How about you include some AJ for the reading impaired, OP? xD |
| CottonTales #855428 6 months ago |
no they played a S___b session, ascended to god tier in some overly convoluted manner, proceeded to losing their six companions, but won in the end becoming gods in their new universe
This is so totally what happened until it can be proven incorrect also AppleDash is right genetics don't work that way but this is a fictional universe so why not |
| d715 #855791 6 months ago |
Also you forgot about the fact that Alicorns are ALL THREE
that's why they're on the flag its symbolised unity between the races |
| d715 #855797 6 months ago |
Nevermind I didn't play attention and just saw a pegasus and unicorn and put two and two |
| Sandman #855822 6 months ago |
I say that the alicorns came about in a similar manner to the gods in Neil Gaiman's works. |
| Anonymous #856083 6 months ago |
Actually, genetics can kind of work this way, if you take each trait and its opposite as possibly inherited.
However, this would also mean that there's ponies out there who are neither pegasi, unicorns, nor earth ponies... |
| Mezzo #856466 6 months ago |
^Yeah. They're called hippocamp. |

SHO BEE DOO |
| Anonymous #856634 6 months ago |
Genetics technically can work this way.
All ponies are supposssed to be the same species the same Leopard and Black Panther are the same species. |

@CottonTales: Of course! They're ectobiological slime sisters! That explains everything! |
