Why do alicorns and unicorns need handles on any of their stuff? I would have thought one of those ridiculously impractical "glaive" fantasy weapons would actually be much more appropriate for a hornhead anyway. |

My guess is that it's a combination of tradition and a design goal of "make this at least somewhat usable by non-unicorns/tired unicorns".
But yeah, for ponies with reliable telekinesis a handleless blade would give you a lot more design options. |

can't they use their hooves? i mean we see it in the actual cartoon every now and then so why is there a debate. just give their hooves hidden thumbs or make them flexible and call it a day |
