Your EqD description is very wrong. That place is also filled with minor news posts, small image catalogs of mediocrity, and a ton of people who get upset the moment they hear "shipping" who perpetually politely disagree with people who stikk to one pairing and support the mediocre fics just for the pairing. Then there are music and comic posts, because why not dump every single thing about ponies onto you on the same page? Finding the actual fanfiction there is a pain in the ass even with their tag-sorting searchable archive.
Ponies and discussion just do not go well together. Refer to the origin place of /b/ronies for why. |

EqD is hardly terrible, but I'd never go there for community. It's an alright source of news and some of the fics are pretty damn amazing. I mainly tuned in just for FO:E updates though, and that story is finished. And as much as I love Trixie, Seth is just creepy.
Ponychan is indeed a joke. Oh lawdy, the place is basically a perpetual shitstorm and its mods are essentially monkeys with stun guns and a heap of insecurity. Ponibooru here? Can get pretty weird, but it's a reliable source of art, is prone to amazing imagedumps, and is home to some pretty amazing discussion. You could try Plus4chan. They're most of /co, split off into their own imageboard. Keep in mind that the Brony phenomenon started on /co, so you'd be in good company. |

I don't mind EqD for the most part, other than Seth's constant bullshit and Trixie over-obsession (We get it Seth, you like Trixie. Doesn't mean you have to make her the fucking focus of everything!), but the discussion there is just littered with the whiniest bunch of douches in this fanbase. |

Wow. You guys really have no idea how to see a recurring joke do you? Pretty much the only reason Seth still mentions the Trixie obsession is because all of YOU pretty much forced him into that role, probably coupled with the fact that he actually likes Trixie.
It's comparable to Roboshi and his favoriting. It's the only thing we know him for, so if he stops doing it nobody knows what to do with him anymore. |

Ponibooru is the only site I regularly visit. I visit Equestria Daily for news and stuff, and I used to browse Ponychan before it went to hell, but this is the only place I've really felt a part of rather than just an observer. |

I agree that Ponibooru's Mods are way more reliable than your average Mod.
Plus, the site itself allows people to block out what they don't want to see, so most trolling attempts can be solved by simply adding a new tag to your filters. |

Among other things, EQD is way too busy to keep up with discussions; if I want to comment on a fic or pic, I usually go to the source link. I do like the people here, so a forun might be nice to try; especialyl since we got like, a thousand images a day, so any pics that have a conversation get buried in short order; and people tend not to look past the first few pages to comment or converse, so a place where a convo can build up and no immediatley get buried would be nice. |

As I said before, I started here in Ponibooru so I can't tell how the other sites are from my personal perspective. Sure, most of the time we're bein gsilly, posting random gifs and such, but we also occasionally do have a meaningful conversation and actually being serious. Only problem is, as Xuncu said, those conversations gets buried easily with so many image posts per day and such, which is great that we have the comment section, even though it also gets buried easily. |
