I know people usually have Fluttershy pegged as the medic, but think about it. The medic is always the center of attention, and everyone's always trying to kill him. For somepony that hates being in the spotlight, that sounds like hell. |

Why Fluttershy is the Medic:
She's the only one confirmed to have medical knowledge (she's the town wild animal herder and vet) and she's a badass when the chips are down (much like a good Medic can tear through an enemy with the Ubersaw or Blutsauger, or through several enemies with the help of an ally and the Ubercharge). There's a few other factors (the relative popularity of the '"Dr. Adorable" tumblr, the "FlutterMac" pairing being compared to the Medic/Heavy ship, etc.) Could you imagine her as any other class? |

Applejack and Pinkie Pie might be better off switching. Soldier Applejack works because she's a fairly reliable all-rounder and Demo Pinkie works because she's unpredictable and gets leveled accusations of being HAX.
Still, I really like these matchups. It's nice to see Applejack and Zecora as more appropriate classes than Engineer and Demoman, respectively. |

It kinda makes sense having Fluttershy being Sniper in terms of how they talk. Most of the Snipers' quotes is spoken in a low-key voice and Fluttershy would be to scared to raise her voice.
Plus, I would think she would be the one pony who would want to be the farthest away from the action so sniping would be somewhat ideal. |

Why Zecora is medic:
She made potions meant for all kinds of things, including healing (Apple Bloom's teeth). So it wouldn't be too far out there to create similar healing to what the Medic has made. |

This is far better than that list everyone seems to be using (the one that's already been posted twice in the comments), but it still needs a bit of work.
Applejack's reliability makes her a good Soldier, and spammable, noisy grenades with "surprise party" stickybombs are great for Pinkie. Or, perhaps... Pinkie is great at stalking, a necessary Spy trait; whereas Rarity has little in common with Spy tactics. Rarity would be better as Sniper (best class for not getting her hooves dirty), and that also gives Spike an excuse to stay near her (checking for Spies that continually harass Snipers). But then Fluttershy would be shifted into Medic duty, and that takes away Zecora's most fitting job. The last class to fill would be Demoman, but Zecora has nothing in common with demolition... Simple! Replace Zecora with Derpy! She's great at demolishing stuff, and as a bonus, she's got eye problems too, just like Demoman himself! Done! Or maybe it's this: AJ and Pinkie still swap into SoldierJack and DemoPie, but Rarity and Fluttershy swap into Snipity and FlutterSpy? Already explained the Rarity-Sniper logic, but FlutterSpy is naturally quiet, and could use the cloak and disguises so she can hide herself from attention (she doesn't have much else in common with Spy tactics, though). This setup means Zecora gets to stay Medic. What do ya think? ...Now my brain hurts... |
