Assuming, of course, that the image displayed in the announcement article on Equestria Daily is accurate.

@HeinousActsZX When someone posted it up first, there mostly just was a lot of whining about OCs. Very few actually bothered to read the description at all (and the person who posted it hadn't bothered to include it). |

Celestia would not let a child be harmed like that while she could do anything about it. Come heavenly transit or hell-spawn infecting those she will not harm, she would gladly use all her might to keep such an innocent safe; their blood relation is, at most, additional incentive.
And while Luna may never have gotten to see her little Dawn-er, Cadence- grow up, she's getting to know her in the background, and is at least happy that she's grown up well. The rift between them may be vast, and it may take time to weld it shut, but time is something they have in abundance, as would be the will to know someone that close. And Cadence? We may not know her yet, and there is the slight chance we never will(if they alter her episode's story somehow), but at the least she'll be in the fanon, even if less so than Ditzy Doo. |

^ @RedshirtZombie Actually, in the case of her little Dawn - Celestia didn't know. Celestia didn't know her sister was pregnant, she couldn't hear her sister's pleas. If she did, she would indeed have moved heaven and earth to save the foal.
Alas for her, she would only learn of it later, when Luna finally breaks down and tells her that she inadvertantly murdered her sister's child. |
