I personally like the idea that Spike and Rarity could not breed. It makes the love more difficult and enduring. Love because of love alone and not because you want to bone the other person. But that's just me. |

Dragons can grow from small and cute to giant fire breathing monsters within minutes. They have magic that can change mice into horses, teleport and move things with their minds and even walk on clouds. I don't really think we should apply our rules to their mythical world that have full grown trees appear, bear fruit and disappear within a span of 5 days. Its magic and doesn't need to make sense. |

@844331 True, dragons can be made to grow fast as we've been shown, but the series also made it abundantly clear that doing so also reduced them to being greedy, mindless brutes. And it still wouldn't change the fact that Spike is mentally and emotionally still a child.
You can use magic to justify it, but at one point do you draw the line there? By that logic you can justify anything with it... you may as well just say "because I like it so there", same difference. |

Spell that makes young Spike older.
Spell that makes old Rarity younger. Time travel spell that brings old Spike from future to past or young Rarity to future. Spell that makes Spike grow into a completely different benign dragon by generosity instead of greed. And so on... Why draw a line at all when their world offers infinite possibilities? Seriously, their world doesn't work like ours. 'Nuff said. |

For all we know dragons could become thousands of years or instead have a faster growth rate than other dragon mythologies. It's just as possible as any of the other fucking shippings that occur.
