I'm cautiously optimistic.
I mean, I doubt there's going to be any canon gay; the mothership has their public image to worry about, after all. But I also doubt that all the main characters will end up paired with some background colt. That would send the message of "girls who don't want to romance are doing it wrong", which would fly in the face of the ideas espoused by the production team so far, and on the corporate end would risk negative press while accomplishing nothing in particular. Chill your hooves and wait to see what happens, is all I'm saying. Everything's probably going to be okay. |

It would bother me if a large number of different-sex romantic couples are shown, but no same-sex. I think that should bother any member of modern society, because it's badly dated.

Honestly, I know how to separate canon from fanon, so my ships sinking isn't my worry. What I fear is that if any character is confirmed as hetero/homo, any future fic involving this character that contradict its canon orientation may be banned from EqD. |
