This is insane. I think I understand it.
If you take an apple and put a straw all the way through it, then drop something through the straw (in this case, a pebble), the pebble would not simply fall straight through, since apples break several laws of gravity- The gravitational constant G is significantly bigger for apples than it is for any other object in the universe. Instead, the pebble would act as if it had fallen through the center of the earth and came out the other side, with the apple acting as the earth in this case. "Gravity can't apple" indeed. |
