I'm pretty sure that having Filthy Rich was meant to create credibility to the story. (Unlike Pinkie's cutie mark story where we haven't met anyone that can colloborate). |

Maybe ponies can live to be over a hundred years old. I mean, we've only seen ONE baby in the whole series and some ponies were adults already back when the mane cast were still fillies. If they just have freakishly long lifespans and reproduce slowly that could balance things out. |
