I don't ship that many straight pairings. Not because I hate them, but just because I don't find a majority of the stallions shippable with most of the mares.

I think I pass this impression myself sometimes.
Something in MLP makes me like same sex ships far more than in other medias. Even in Homestuck, where half of the characters are pansexual, I ship more straight than with ponies. |

I'm very open with pairings. I'm also of the mentality that, while some ponies (like the Cakes, or Rarity's parents) do couple up, I feel that the unofficial status quo of ponydom is that it's probably much more like real life pony lifestyles. Mares probably try to catch the eye of their favorite stalion, and I suspect that unhitched stallions are effectively available, or that a stallion may pair with a small herd of mares. It'd never fly on a kids show, but that's the way I tend to see it. I definitely see Big Mac working will with Twi and Fluttershy. Soarin works well with RD and AJ. Rarity is following the mindset of her parents before her and is saving herself for the PERFECT stallion of her dreams, and Pinkie Pie... Well... She's Pinkie. I imagine she can have WILD parties from time to time! LOL! I can't imagine her settling down. I like the Doctor/Derpy pairing as well.
I must also admit, that I'm a huge supporter of LunaMac shipping. I just imagine that ponies, while being very human like, are also very pony like, and that's how I imagine their social structure to work in terms of relationships. They are naturally naked, and I would also imagine they are naturally far more open to a more open form of sexuality. Not everypony would agree with me, but that's how I view it, more of less. |

Why would you bother to hate them? It's not like there's some sort of shipping limit. A piece of straight art/fiction does existing does not prevent an equivalent piece of lesbian work from existing. |
