It's starts out using a small thing like "They both like music". When we put them together, if a lot of artists like the way they look then writers write about them and give them personalities that go well together to cause comedy and/or romance. We ship them because they look good together. |

*Wheez* Okay, so you take two characters who... play music (nice reason to date by the way), which sticks because they... Look good together? What does that even mean, that's not chemistry it's an excuse! All ponies look equally as appealing together, you just slapped two characters with unique designes together, and called a good relationship. And, to round it out, you make one a grumpy bitch and make the other a sarcastic cunt, calling them "quarky". Not to mention they don't even live in the same city (based on only canon), the dj lives in Ponyville and Octavia lives in Canterlot. You have NO EVIDENCE to prove me wrong, and don't give me a bullshit theory. I'm done being mad now.

Well, it's fanon between 2 characters who have been given barely any kind of personality, which makes people create their own versions of them. It may also have to do with the cliche of "opposites attract." It's not a watertight reason, but, meh, what can ya do? |
