I read a fanon explanation, but I'll keep it to myself.
... ... ... ... 1. Sisters 2. Babysitting for Lyra and Bon Bon 3. Friends playing. |

Anon's got it right. |

For the second time today, I find myself agreeing with Heinous. |

Maybe Sparkler is part of the big sister program? |
| cthulhlu #834512 6 months ago |
1: friend of the family
2 & 3 agree totally. |
| PhilSrobeighn #834531 6 months ago |
1. Sisters - thus Sisterhooves Social
2. Parent/Daughter - the older ponies in the Sisterhooves are old enough for their own foals. 3. A unique, modern Aunt/Niece family pair. |

Either Babysitter
Filling in for Derpy, (real sis was sick or was okay with it) Background pony that just a filler |
| Jackarunda #834555 6 months ago |
This is the way it is: look at the way the peabnut bubber jar squishes into Sparkler's hoof/leg. It's cool |
| PVRyohei #834559 6 months ago |
I'm with Heinous in this one. |

Maybe Sparkler is a community service pony. She's good with foals, so she takes it upon herself to be a communal "big sister" for the ones who don't have siblings, are under some manner of hardship, or who just want somepony to hang out/speak/play with.
Sparkler is very close with the Hooves family, Dinky being the only child of a single parent, and visits them often. She just happened to be having lunch with Tootsie in the Mare Do Well episode. |

Occam's Razor says PhilSrobeighn has the right answer. It's not too strange to have an aunt/niece pair of the same age. |

I'm with Heinous.... though I wonder, was "seafoam" adopted or is one half of our favorite lesbian couple her biological mother? |
| AcuteAngle #834693 6 months ago |
Canon: Anon458 is correct.
Fanon: Whatever floats your boat. |
| Anonymous #835650 6 months ago |
Bronies, a few things.
1. That is not Seafoam, that is Sparkler. They are similar, but an easy way to tell is the cutie-mark. Seafoam has two dolphins. 2. Heinious is speaking the truth. I repeat. Derpy Hoovesis the mother ofSparklerandDinky Hooves.Sparklerbaby-sitsTootsie-FluteforLyraandBonBon. |

I just can't bring myself to support most of community head-canon about Derby. To me she looks younger than Sparkler and the mane6. |

In this thread, we overanalyze a kids' show. |
| Vree #851209 6 months ago |
:O Just with those three images, you blew my mind. I never gave Tootsie much thought.
...4: All of those are Dinky. Sometimes she changes color and spawns a clone. |
| Anonymous #856569 6 months ago |
Derpy: mom
Dinky: daughter Sparkler: daughter Tootsie: cousin? |

That's why I see Derpy, Dinky & Sparkler as sisters. Derpy's the middle child who was born a unicorn, but some accident turned her into a pegasus and locked her form. |
